Zelcol Gloss Varnish is a transparent high-gloss varnish formulated for use over fully dried oil paintings to protect and enhance artwork. It creates a clear, glossy finish that intensifies colour depth and surface clarity while shielding the paint from dust, dirt and environmental wear. The varnish consists of drying oils, resin, and a thinner or solvent, which form a durable, non-yellowing film when applied correctly. It should only be used after oil paint has fully cured (typically many months) to ensure proper adhesion, and it can be removed later with white spirits if restoration or re-varnishing is needed.
