Zelcol Satin Varnish is a transparent protective finish formulated for use over fully dried oil paintings. It consists of drying oils, resin, and a solvent, which together create a durable, semi-gloss (satin) surface that protects artwork from dust, dirt and environmental wear while softening reflections compared to a high-gloss finish. Apply only after the oil paint has fully cured (typically 6–12 months), and it can be removed later with white spirits if needed for restoration or re-varnishing.
